MAY I extend a huge thank you to all the very kind people who stopped and tried to help me when I was stuck and alone at the junction of Warrington Road and Stockport Road in Lymm between the hours of 1am and 2am on New Year's Day.
I had stopped to scrape fresh ice from the windscreen when the car door accidentally locked behind me, leaving me completely helpless, with my phone, bag, keys etc all inside.
It was quite a frightening situation, but I received nothing but genuine concern and kindness.
Special thanks please to the taxi driver who kindly lent me his mobile phone, and to the lady with three or four sleepy little children in her car, who tried so hard in her offers of help.
I would especially like to thank my son and daughter-in-law, who got out of bed at 2am and went to so much trouble to get me home safely.
It was lovely to experience so much goodwill from all those concerned. Best wishes to all of them.
