Haresfinch 44
Heysham Atoms 6
SKIPPER Anthony Seabrook scored a nap hand of tries as Haresfinch powered to another convincing win to maintain their leadership of Division Two.
The home side led 24-0 at the interval following a wonderful display of running rugby. They opened the scoring when Seabrook and scrum-half Stuart Simmons combined to send second-row Lee Burke in for a tremendous try. Seabrook scored his first when he finished off an Ian Derbyshire break and then goaled it himself.
Then came the try of the match, stand-off John Jackson starting a move which saw Seabrook and winger Allan Barker interpassing before the former went in for his second to which he added a brilliant conversion.
Seabrook's hat-trick came from good work by hooker Chris Mason, before loose-forward Ste Thompson sent Jackson side-stepping through for the last try before the break.
After the interval Seabrook was soon on the scoresheet again, collecting his own chip to go over wide out. At this stage veterans, Karl Farrall and Ste Marsh made way for youngsters Michael Lee and the huge Ifan Howell to carry on the good work.
Dave Cunliffe had been involved in most things and it was his break which let Thompson send Jackson in for his second try. Cunliffe converted. Seabrook then reached the milestone of his fifth try, courtesy of Derbyshire.
Heysham scored a consolation try before Thompson sent Jackson in for his hat-trick with Cunliffe again converting.
Cunliffe took the Franco's Wholesale Ltd. man-of-the-match just ahead of Jackson and Thompson, with Seabrook and full-back Martyn Yelland also worthy of mention.
