TWO wannabe radio stars from St Lewis' RC Primary School in Croft took to the airwaves after winning a green contest.
Year six pupils Hollie Cunningham and David Barlow were invited to Radio Merseyside as a result of an eco competition. The Mustard Lane school's students are well informed on environmental issues, as the school holds an Eco Flag.
The competition was organised by British Aerospace Engineering and representatives from the company accompanied the pair and their teachers to Liverpool.
The group had an extra treat when they reached the radio station as they met up with author Brian Jacques, who was reading his books on one of the station's programmes.
