Mrs Audrey Leigh, wife of Mr Walter Leigh, died of heart failure on December 1. She was 74.
Mrs Leigh, of Bellhouse Lane, Grappenhall, was born in Warrington and lived in Grappenhall for 54 years.
She was employed as an assistant, then the manageress, of Hancock & Wood, in Warrington and then the Stockton Heath branch for many years.
Mrs Leigh led a very active social life. Her passion was dancing and together with her husband she went sequence dancing three times a week at the Eagle Sports and the Ex-Servicemen's Clubs in Grappenhall. Through this hobby they made many lifelong friendships.
Mrs Leigh also enjoyed knitting and reading, but her happiest times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored and to whom she always gave her full support.
She leaves her husband, two daughters and four grandchildren.
A service was held on December 7 at St Wilfrid's Church, Grappenhall, followed by interment in the churchyard. The Rev Malcolm Kelly and the Rev Margaret Jones officiated.
Arrangements were made by A Maddock & Son, of Stockton Heath and Lovely Lane.
