A GANG of violent and abusive youths are causing problems in Burtonwood.
Police are appealing for information about a group of youths - believed to be coming into the village from St Helens - who have been causing problems since November last year.
They are aged between 10 and 15, behave in a drunken manner and are particularly anti-social, acting in a threatening, abusive and violent manner.
They congregate outside Burtonwood Community Centre but some complaints have also been received from Colne Road, including an alleged assault, which could be linked to the group.
Sgt Joanna Buckley said: "There is a group of youngsters which congregates outside the community centre.
"But the information we have is that these particular youths are coming into the village from St Helens.
"We would appeal to anyone with information about them to contact us."
