CONSUMERS who suffer an excessive amount of power cuts are to be given compensation in new measures announced by the energy regulator Ofgem.
Those who experience four or more interruptions of more than three hours duration per year will benefit from the moves.
Also, power distribution companies, such as the Warrington-based United Utilities and Manweb, will be subject to an overall standard measuring their performance in minimising multiple problems to their networks.
