POLICE say they cannot confirm reports that a convicted murderer and sex offender has moved to the county after being deported from Australia.
A front-page story in a tabloid newspaper at the weekend stated that 62-year-old David Little, a Liverpudlian, had flown into Heathrow Airport and was planning to set up home in Cheshire.
A Cheshire police spokesman said: "We are aware of the story, have been briefed by the relevant authorities and we have spoken to the individual concerned.
"In keeping with normal protocol, the police and other agencies will be assessing whether any specific threat is posed and if any threat is perceived, measures will be put in place."
