A TEENAGE pair were the victims of aggressive robbers who stole their mobile phones.

The two 15-year-olds were walking along Sankey Street towards Bank Quay Station on Saturday, January 19, when two men approached them.

The strangers confronted the teenagers and demanded they hand over their mobiles and became aggressive when they denied having any.

Then one of them grabbed one of the phones and demanded that the other mobile was handed over.

One of the youths ran off and was pursued by one of the men, but soon returned to assist his friend.

Then the attackers demanded money off the pair - and when they handed over £20 the two men gave the teenagers their phones back.

As the robbers were running off, one of them was struck by a car before running off towards Bank Park.

One of the men is described as aged 19 to 21, around 5ft 10ins tall, bald and muscular with a pale complexion.

He was wearing a cream sweatshirt and trousers.

The other man was also aged 19 to 21, around 6ft tall, with short black, unkempt hair, skinny, and had a grubby complexion.

One of them was carrying a 3ft-long cuddly "tigger" toy.

Anyone with information about the incident can call Warrington police on 652222 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
