FEARS that a gipsy camp was being planned for the centre of Lymm have been quashed by council chiefs.
Speculation has been rife in the village that a caravan site, in Pepper Street, was set to be converted into a traveller's camp.
But a Warrington Borough Council spokesman has dismissed the claims, confirming no such plans had been received by the council's development control department.
The land, at the bottom of Pepper Street, would need planning permission to be turned into a gipsy camp.
