BOROUGH council education director Malcolm Roxburgh has dismissed any possibility of supervised smoking breaks similar to those introduced into a school in Chester.
Mr Roxburgh, said he did not think that encouraging pupils to smoke was appropriate.
"I would not encourage any school in Warrington to develop a policy which allows pupils to smoke," he added.
Christelton High hit the headlines last week after headteacher Geoff Lawson decided to introduce smoking breaks for pupils who refuse to give up.
