Latchford Albion 18
Spring View 17
ALBION recorded their first North West Counties Division One win of 2002 despite losing three key players with injury.
Albion put in a good team effort and showed plenty of character.
Early on, Sean Mellor cancelled out a Spring View penalty goal for Latchford.
Spring View took the lead with a converted try.
Morris Gorton scored a six-pointer for Albion but right on half-time another penalty gave Spring View a 10-8 lead.
In the second half Albion took the lead with a try by Paul Daintith. Mellor's goal made it 14-10.
Spring View took the lead again with a converted try before Iain Fowler scored what proved to be the match-winning try.
The only other score was a drop goal from Spring View.
Latchford will need to maintain the momentum as they are still second from bottom of their table.
