NEWTON Boys' and Girls' Club is celebrating a £10,000 boost.
Lancashire Association of Clubs for Young People gave the generous donation to the centre, based in Haydock Street.
The money will enable the club to carry out essential roof repairs, allowing it to remain open.
Meanwhile, the club hopes to recruit more volunteers to help on club nights or by joining the management committee.
