A WEBSITE charting Newton's history will be launched at the town's library on February 6.
The site is one part of a project titled Newton-le-Willows: Children Into History, which will be put together over four years.
Aims include creating a specialised history section within the library, and promoting to the community the development and value of historical studies within Newton through IT and printed materials.
The scheme is aimed in particular at children aged seven to 14, but also anyone interested in history, in line with the borough's heritage strategy.
It has been made possible by a grant from the Department of Culture, Media and Sport and the Wolfson Foundation.
