WIMBOLDSLEY Primary School is celebrating success at the double this week.

The school, near Middlewich, has been awarded a School Achievement Award and it has also had excellent results from its OFSTED inspection report.

The School Achievement Award is a national award presented to schools achieving outstanding results.

Wimboldsley School will shortly be displaying the award's logo on all its official documents and headed notepaper.

The OFSTED inspectors visited the school in February and they were impressed by what they saw.

They highlighted the standards in core subjects, the teaching quality, the school environment and its strong partnership with parents as particular strengths.

The report stated: "Wimboldsley Primary School is an effective school, popular with pupils and parents alike.

"It gives its pupils a good education and prepares them well for the next phase.

"Almost all pupils at aged seven and 11 attain the standards in English, mathematics and science expected of their age with a significant number achieving a higher level."

Jane Millward, headteacher, said: "The staff and governors are thrilled with our recent OFSTED inspection.

"The report identifies many strengths of the school and recognises the positive experiences that our children encounter.

"The excellent report is a true reflection of the hard work and pure dedication by everyone involved in the school.

"We are all delighted!"

The inspectors had little to criticise but suggested some aspects of information and communication technology could be improved along with the role of the co-ordinator.

The school governors will now address these issues by drawing up an action plan.
