CREWE'S King's Grove School have found their new Head Boy and Girl.

Over 60 pupils applied for the 40 prefect positions, of which 10 were appointed as senior prefects.

Following two further interviews with governors, staff and fellow pupils, Matthew Randell and Becky Booth, both aged 15, were selected.

"Choosing the correct head boy and girl is a very important task for any school at his time of year," said a Kings Grove spokesperson.

"The school has undergone a rigorous selection process to choose our prefects, senior prefects and head boy and girl."

In their new roles, Matthew and Becky will act as ambassadors for the school with a variety of duties including public speaking, meeting governors and parents, leading the team of prefects and attending official functions.
