VALE Royal Athletics Club's girls dominated the first Cheshire League track and field meeting of the season at Deeside on Sunday.

They took the first six places in the second race of the U15 girls 1500m, with winner Jessica Hunt followed across the line by Lorna Timms, Stevie Stockton, Lucy Knight, Victoria Jones and Sophie McClellan.

Gemma Lievesley and Laura Lambert finished second and third in the first race of this category, while Vale Royal's girls also swept the board in the senior women's 1500m.

Winsford's Sarah Drury came home first followed by Cuddington girl Beth Carter. Hartford High School's Fiona Rudkin was fourth and, running for Vale Royal, Siobhan Tarbuck from Crewe was fifth.

Katie Balfour was second in the A race of the U13 girls 100m and Louise Bosson achieved the same position in the B race, which was also ran by Kate Howard and Lucy Blackburn.

Corinne Kinvig won both 800m races and her brother Keiran was second in the U13 boys 800m.

Sarah Balfour was second in the U15 girls 100m while 15-year-old Julia Hopley was second in the senior ladies 100m and Nicky Archer came second in the 3000m.

For the boys, Steve Butterfield won the U17 100m, Stephen Mitchell came second in the U15 B 1500m. Gareth Williams finished second in the senior men's 3000m.
