ELWORTH CC came close to victory against Leycett, last Saturday but just couldn't find the vital push.
Chasing a declaration of 225-7, Elworth fell short on 207 for 8.
Ryan Husdon (23) played the anchor innings while Dave Palin hit a powerful 51 and pro Sarfraz Hussain smashed a quick fire 42 of 39 balls. Rob Beech made a telling contribution hitting 46 off 43 balls.
Leycett pro Mohammed Ali put the skids on the run charge in his second spell with 4-44 and secured the draw, taking 9 points to Elworth's 8.
Elworth travel to Stone, this Saturday, start 1.30pm.
