I FEEL I need to write to say what a poor state Crewe is in.

The state of the bus and railway stations alone are enough to give the town a bad name, they both need multi-million pound redevelopment, the Shavington By-pass should have been built years ago, the Crewe Green link road should be built straight away without delay, although it is not planned the way I would have it, it needs to be linked with the Alsager Road.

How many companies have been put off expanding or relocating to Crewe because of the state of our road system?

There are some good things happening in the area but there is much more that needs to be done to bring Crewe out of the dark ages and into the 21st century, I have listed what I think are the priorities below:

Knock Crewe swimming baths down and build a modern one either on the same site or a different one.

Rebuild both the railway and bus stations.

Sort out the mess which is the Wistaston Road /Dunwoody Way traffic lights by putting in the one way system we were told we were having for High Street/Oak Street.

Give us the Eaton Street leisure complex we keep hearing about and the market centre improvements.

Never mind whether it is out of town, they should give the go-ahead for B & Q to build their warehouse on Weston Road, if visitors don't like what they see as they approach Crewe they will not carry on in, and what I see does not impress me much.

These ideas could quite easily happen, or are the powers that be too greedy by wanting more money for the land than what it is worth.
