THE Highways Agency has begun a £1.85 million resurfacing and maintenance scheme on the M6 southbound carriageway, between Walton's Wood and Crewe's Junction 16.
The work, which started on Monday, is expected to last for 66 days until June 26.
Project sponsor Godfrey Short said: "We hope to minimise disruption to road users by scheduling resurfacing to take place overnight.
"Work will occur from around 8pm to 6am weekdays and from 8pm on Saturday until 10am on Sunday.
"Three lanes will remain open during the day although there may be some hard shoulder closures."
