TWO Warrington men have been arrested over Internet child pornography as part of a nationwide operation.
Warrants were executed at two homes in the town on Wednesday morning. Computer equipment was seized from both and two men were arrested.
The action formed part of Operation Magenta, the largest nationwide police operation yet targeting Internet child pornography, which involved 33 police forces and was co-ordinated by Hertfordshire Constabulary.
A total of 70 warrants were executed across the country on the morning - but the only two arrests in Cheshire involved a 50-year-old painter and decorator and a 32-year-old IT consultant, both from Warrington.
They were arrested and interviewed on Wednesday morning before being given police bail until a later date.
The computer equipment that was seized will now be examined by police as part of the investigation.
