THE REGENT Theatre, Hanley will host the UK premiere of a Russian opera company's versions of 'Tosca' and 'The Barber of Seville'.
The State Opera of Plovdiv presents 'Tosca' on Monday - Wednesday, May 6-8.
Passion, jealousy, vengeance, tragedy and religious tyranny are all interwoven in Puccini's timeless masterpiece that features some of his most powerful and unforgettable music.
'The Barber of Seville' will be staged on Thursday May 9 to Saturday 11.
Directed by Nobel Prize-winning writer Dario Fo, Rossini's hilarious Barber brims with colourful characters, rollicking wit and a superb score.
The State Opera of Plovdiv was established in 1953. Its repertoire policy is aimed mainly at the great achievements of the European spirit in the art opera.
