LEGENDARY star of stage and screen, Petula Clark, left, will be wowing fans of all ages with a mix of her hits and some brand new recordings when she visits the Victoria Hall, Hanley on Wednesday, May 15.

The popular singer is celebrating 60 years in showbusiness.

Petula first found fame as a child star during World War II and grew up in the spotlight.

She has recorded more than 1,000 songs and has enjoyed over 30 hits in the UK alone.

Throughout her career she has starred in many British and American films including 'The Card' with Alec Guinness. Based on the novel by Potteries writer Arnold Bennett, it saw Petula putting in a personal appearance at its premier in the 'Regent' which was a cinema at that time.

Landmarks in her career include being the first British female artist to receive a US Grammy and having a string of hits across the world, including 'My Love', 'Sailor', 'With all my Heart', 'Don't Sleep in the Subway' and 'Downtown'.

Her total album sales are now in excess of 70million and she has worked with some of the most respected names in music.

A multi award-winning performer, Petula's credits include sell-out concerts at the Copacabana and Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas.
