STARRY-eyed cupids could experience unions full of Eastern promise this year with Warrington's new Pyramid centre offering couples the chance to wed in style.

The arts building, soon to open in Warrington's emerging Cultural Quarter, could soon explode into a haze of chimes and confetti and become a unique addition to Warrington's range of civil wedding venues.

Lovers can choose a traditional background for the special day, with the old County and Magistrates' courts boasting leaded glass windows and vaulted roof beams.

Alternatively, marriages can take place in the modern glass-walled galleria, on the highest level of the Pyramid, for a unique and dramatic setting.

Angela Conley, marketing manager, said: "The Pyramid has the capacity and expertise to offer the full range of wedding services on site, from wedding breakfasts to full receptions and evening entertainments.

"Apparently, the registrars were quite taken with the setting and also appreciated our alternative modern option. To be honest, when you see the traditional dcor of the old County and Magistrates' buildings, weddings do spring to mind.

"The civil officials, who inspect and approve all new wedding venues, enthusiastically welcomed our application, and we hope the imminent availability of Pyramid will satisfy the high demand for suitable wedding venues in Warrington town centre."

Angela continued: "The Pyramid has been recommended to the chief registrar, and accordingly submitted a public notice, giving people three weeks if they wish to raise any objections. But with the registrar office almost next-door, it's ideal! They are inundated with requests throughout the year, but similar venues, like Walton Hall, are a little out of town. The Pyramid, with its central location, is perfect."
