GLOWING lights, calming sound effects and stimulating colours are set to benefit youngsters at Warrington Hospital.
Plans are well underway for a multi-sensory unit, which is designed to provide a peaceful haven for children waiting to go into theatre.
Acting paediatric unit manager, Jane Jones, said: "Some children on our wards have difficulties with their hearing or sight and may feel isolated.
"This room will help them to sit comfortably and be comforted by soothing sound effects."
The project was initiated by Play Hospital Specialists, Keith Coleman and Jill Holland, and it is hoped the unit will be sponsored by a number of local communities.
