Halton Aventis Cricket League
AS the curtain finally falls on yet another mid-week league season, all eyes will be on the Hyde Cup final on Sunday, September 8, at Birchfield Club.
Current holders Ditton CC will face last year's second division runners-up, Parklands, who will appear in their second domestic final in two years, following their appearance in the Commander Wilkinson VC Cup against winners Queen Park.
Ditton CC on the other hand will be enjoying their seventh successful Hyde Cup appearance - their 14th cup final since 1995. The match will start at 3pm.
In the league's two divisions, Parklands have already attained success in the first division, eventually seeing off all opposition after a somewhat shaky start to the season.
Widnes Rec Extras also finished with a flourish to grab second spot from Ditton CC, who had to settle for third place.
Halton Corporation were relegated having a lean time in the division, with the second relegation spot still threatening for Moorfield Casuals and RAOW.
In the second division, Echo Taxis, relegated last year, became the champions in a keenly fought contest between Bohemians and Travellers Rest.
The runners-up spot is still un decided with Bohemians in the driving seat and, with the last league games to be played this week, anything could happen.
