A TEENAGE girl, who enjoyed more than 15 minutes of fame, has set her heart on becoming the next Britney Spears.
Oli Faranjani had 45 minutes to impress judges at a special BskyB media course with her own version of Mis-Teeq's hit single One Night Stand.
Famous
But if that fails, the 16-year-old pupil from Withington Girls' School, who scored well in last week's GCSE exams, hopes to become a barrister.
"I'm fascinated by criminal law and I'm hoping to study that at university - unless I have a number one before then," she said.
Oli began dreaming of a career as a singer when she was 11.
"Britney Spears is my idol," she said. "I'd love to be as successful as she is."
Last week she was - in her GCSEs - gaining five As and four Bs. But it was the two-day Reach for the Stars course at Ormskirk, which gave her hope of a bright future.
Aimed at youngsters hoping to follow a career in the industry, it included dance workshops, acting lessons, careers' advice and tips on how to film a successful pop video.
"I learned loads on the course and would like to go back next year as an adviser," she said. "I was inspired by what I learned and saw. "It was hard work but it's definitely not put me off being a pop star because it has taught me to never give up. I have to follow my dreams."
Of course a pop star's life is never their own.
But Oli, of Pheasant Walk, High Legh, is sure she could handle the attention.
"I just love the idea of being famous," she said. "I always read the gossip pages in magazines so I wouldn't mind them printing what I'd had for lunch."
