YOU omitted from your article on unusual yearly activities (Knutsford Guardian July 31) the ancient tradition of well dressing.
For the past six years, since the well in the church grounds at High Legh was made safe by a local architect's design, the church members emulate the Derbyshire custom by blessing and dressing the well head.
This year we scored two stars on the national website which lists the entire well dressing festival dates in England.
Visitors come from Derbyshire to see our efforts.
Mid-May is our usual date as the new Knutsford Royal May Queen attends and adds to our colourful unique local event.
