DO we need more traffic congestion?

A few years ago, I frequently experienced delays when trying to join Mobberley Road via Thorneyholme Drive.

Congestion was sometimes caused by horse-boxes visiting Crosstown Smithy, milk floats and lorries needing access to Sheldon's Dairy and the buses on the circular route where there are stops on either side of the road.

However, every morning (except for school holidays), the majority of vehicles were those driven by people dropping off their children at the nursery school run by a lovely lady, Miss Barton, who used to be my Sunday School teacher, from her home called Stratton.

Most of the mothers seemed to have a lot in common (apart from their young children) and spent some time in conversation while their vehicles helped to block the road.

In the time since the school closed (as well as the smithy and the dairy), traffic has increased tremendously.

Can someone tell me, if the old library is to become a day nursery, what is going to happen to the additional cars and where are they going to park?

I thought we already had enough traffic using Adam's Hill, Brook Street and Hollow Lane.

Also, although I have none myself, I am concerned about the safety of young children in a location where there is already so much traffic.
