NANTWICH has fast become the place to be for Jazz and Blues fans.

The town's annual Jazz and Blues Festival has gone from strength to strength, enticing around 25,000 visitors to this year's five-day event held over the Easter period.

Proving so popular, event co-ordinator and manager of the Crown hotel, Philip Martin, has decided to try and offer something for enthusiasts on a regular basis.

Throughout September, top musical entertainment will be on offer at the Crown for four evenings a week.

It's Jazz Club on a Tuesday night with Piano Nights to be staged on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

"We've started the music nights around five weeks ago and they're going really well," said Philip.

"It all stems from the Festival really and we're looking to offer people a chance to listen to those musicians on a more regular basis."

A number of local favourites and respected musicians have been added to the line-up

Derrick Harrison Trio kick-start the month, this Tuesday.

Always a favourite at the Jazz and Blues Festival, they feature one of the best jazz pianists in the business.

There's a big name a week later, as the Giant Steps Quartet with Munch Manship come to town.

Well-known throughout the country, Munch has played with all the top musicians and is a must see.

Plenty of Sax appeal when the Just Jazz Trio arrive at the Crown on Tuesday, September 17.

Guitar, double bass and the sax stroke clarinet make up this talented combination who perform a superb mix of jazz and swing which will also include the guitar style of the Crown's legendary Django Reinhardt.

Resident pianist Robert Wootton will be tinkling the ivories on many of the Crown's Piano Nights.

Robert will provide soothing melodies and play requests, also in the Crown on most Thursday afternoons.

All the entertainment is free to see.
