BIDDULPH Victoria went down 4-1 at Oadby Town on Saturday after taking a first half lead.

The Vics went one up nine minutes before the interval following a move down the left involving Nagington and Marrow.

The ball was played inside to Ferns, who made no mistake to fire home.

Oadby equalised as half time approached from a free kick given for a Vics' offside.

The Vics claimed the kick was not taken from the correct place, and the ball ran through to Curtis Warner, who forced it past keeper Taylor.

Matt Davenport for the Vics was brought off early in the second half with a knee problem, and Oadby took full advantage of his absence.

They pressed forward, and Kirk put the ball into his own net as he tried to clear a ball played into the box.

The home side made it 3-1 soon after when Ashley Warner stole in at the near post to head home.

Oadby scored their fourth a minute before the end when they were awarded a free kick after Taylor picked up a back pass.

Oadby smashed the free kick through the wall into the corner of the net.

The Vics earned a 1-1 draw at Pelsall Villa on Monday.

They took the lead early on when Burge crossed for Marrow to fire home.

Fletcher narrowly failed to make it 2-0 on 74 minutes, and Pelsall equalised two minutes later.

The ball was played in to the near post, where Nicholls nipped in and managed to head home.

The Vics are at home to Birdgnorth Town on Sunday in the preliminary round of the FA Cup.
