STUDENTS with learning difficulties in Warrington will be putting their sporting and musical skills into action this week.
Warrington Collegiate Institute's alternative games event is the culmination of nine weeks work with students of lifelong learning who have attended summer courses.
This year's programme is based on the Commonwealth Games with groups learning about cultural differences between countries.
Eileen Owen, a lecturer in supporting learning, said: "The summer programme provided the opportunity for all students to demonstrate their different abilities and have some fun in the process.
"Our students are particularly excited about a proposed appearance from two Warrington Wolves players, who have agreed to present some certificates and medals to our students."
There will be an opening ceremony followed by demonstrations of curling and wheelchair sports tomorrow, Friday, between 10.30am and 12.30pm at the Winwick Road campus.
