SIR Thomas Boteler High School is preparing to become Cheshire's first school to convert to Church of England status.
From next week, the school will be renamed Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School and will be managed by Warrington Education Authority in partnership with the Diocese of Liverpool and Chester.
Rev Michael Finlay, chairman of governors and Rector of Warrington, said: "The Christian ethos of the new school will build on existing strengths, providing a supportive and caring school community.
"As part of this change, the school has already embarked upon an ambitious development programme to ensure a bright and successful future."
The school's new uniform and signs will be unveiled at an opening ceremony on Monday morning, which will be led by the Bishop of Chester.
