STOCKTON Heath firefighters were called to a cable blaze in Higher Walton in the early hours of last Friday morning.
The incident happened in Hough's Lane, when a junction box blew and set fire to cabling on a small wooden pylon.
Firefighters attended the scene at around 2.15am and used dry powder to extinguish the flames.
A spokesman said: "It's not often we get called out to something like that, and we had to park the fire engine about 10 metres away from the scene, as it can be quite dangerous."
