LAST week I visited a dysphasia support group in Liverpool, run by The Stroke Association for people who suffer from communication problems after a stroke. I became involved because my cousin, Chrissie, suffered a stroke at the age of 23 and I was shocked to learn that around 20 people under the age of 30 suffer a first stroke each week. This includes about five children under the age of 16. In fact, if you need more information The Stroke Association has a National Helpline number that you can call on 0845 30 33 100. Tell them I suggested you phone.
