Mr James Kennedy, husband of Mrs Ann Kennedy, died of a heart attack on June 25. He was 67.
Mr Kennedy, of Poulton Crescent, Woolston, was born in Cobh, Eire, and lived in Woolston for 30 years. He was employed as a signalman for British Rail for 40 years until retirement, and was a keen trade union member.
Mr Kennedy loved holidaying in Eire as often as possible, was a regular churchgoer, and was a DIY enthusiast.
He loved being a grandfather and enjoyed the company of his grandchildren.
Mr Kennedy leaves his wife, three sons and two grandchildren.
A service was held on July 5 at St Peter's RC Church, followed by interment at Fox Covert. The Rev Father Jon Gildea and Deacon Tom Washington officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services, of Bewsey Road.
