Mr Robert Craddock, husband of Mrs Jennie Craddock, died on July 28, aged 89.
Mr Craddock, of Riverbank Nursing Home, was born in Nelson Street, Howley, previously living at Slater Street, and later Hancock Court, Latchford, for 63 years.
He was employed for 40 years at Warrington Transport Department, firstly as a driver, rising to inspector, and finally as a training officer, until retirement.
Mr Craddock was educated at Church Street School and began his working life at R&S Smith Builders in Orford, before becoming a chauffer to Mr G Smith, remaining with them for 12 years.
He enjoyed cricket, was captain of the Transport team and often visited Old Trafford.
Mr Craddock was a Freemason and was very fond of socialising and holidays.
He leaves his wife, to whom he was devoted.
A service was held on August 2 at St Hilda's Mission Church, prior to cremation at Walton Lea.
The Rev Tom Owen officiated.
Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services, of Bewsey Road.
