Mrs Agnes Green, wife of the late Mr Percy Green, died of a brain stem stroke on July 24. She was 86.

Mrs Green, of Applecourt Nursing Home, and formerly of Parksway, Woolston, was born in the Bank Quay locality and had lived in the Woolston area for 61 years.

She was employed as a silver service waitress at Padgate Teacher Training College for 25 years.

Mrs Green liked to go on day trips with the over-60s club at her local church, and regularly attended the ladies' afternoon. She enjoyed knitting, reading and holidays, especially visiting Australia to see her son and granddaughter.

Mrs Green was devoted to and cherished by her family, and leaves a daughter, three sons, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

A service was held on August 2 at St Martin's Church, Woolston, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev Peter Gomm officiated.

Arrangements were made by Knox & Son, of Orford Road.
