Mrs Elsie May Davies, wife of the late Mr George Charles Davies, died of bronchopneumonia on July 27. She was 93.
Mrs Davies, of Battersby Lane, was born in Shrewsbury and lived in Warrington for 68 years. She was employed as a wire weaver at Thomas Locker & Son for 25 years.
Mrs Davies was fond of whist drives, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting and watching television, and prior to becoming a widow in 1980, the couple enjoyed holidays abroad.
She was a very independent woman who up until her death continued to do all her own cooking and baking, which gave her a lot of pleasure.
Mrs Davies was devoted to, and cherished by, her family.
She leaves a son, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a sister, a half-brother and a half-sister.
A service was held on August 5 at Walton Lea, followed by cremation. The Rev G Dunn officiated.
Arrangements were made by Cheshire Funeral Services, of Gorsey Lane.
