Mrs Joan Burns, wife of the late Mr Thomas Patrick Burns, died of cancer at St Rocco's Hospice, after a long battle with the illness, on July 6. She was 71.

Mrs Burns, of Minerva Close, Latchford, was born in Liverpool and lived in Warrington for 50 years. She was employed as a wage clerk at Locker Air Maze for 20 years.

Mrs Burns enjoyed gardening, playing bingo with her friends at the Gala Bingo Club, and holidays abroad.

She loved being in the company of her family and had recently become a very proud great-grandmother.

Mrs Burns leaves three sons, two grandchildren and a great-grandson, on whom she doted.

A service was held on July 12 at St Mary's RC Church, followed by interment at Warrington Cemetery. The Rev Father Felix Stephens officiated.

Arrangements were made by Co-operative Funeral Services, of Bewsey Road.
