Mrs Emily Scully, wife of the late Mr Edward Scully, died of pneumonia at Warrington Hospital on August 4. She was 82.

Mrs Scully, of Toll Bar Road, Orford, was born in Keen Street and lived in Bewsey for 40 years and Orford for 20 years.

She was employed as a supervisor cleaner at Appleton High School for 10 years.

Mrs Scully had a variety of jobs throughout her life, including working on munitions at Risley during the Second World War.

She came from a very large household and really enjoyed their family get-togethers, where she would often sing.

Mrs Scully spent many happy holidays in Wales and more recently in Blackpool.

She adored living in her bungalow in Orford, tending to her garden, and also liked reading and watching television.

Mrs Scully leaves three sisters, a brother and many nephews and nieces.

A service was held on August 9 at St Andrew's Church, followed by cremation at Walton Lea. The Rev Michael Raynor officiated. Her ashes were later interred with her husband's at Walton Lea.

All donations were sent to St Rocco's Hospice.
