THE first wave of demolitions on a block of asbestos-ridden homes in Padgate got under way this week.
Demolition began on the first block of homes on Anson Close and Blenheim Close on the Blackbrook Estate on Monday by council contractors Bagnalls.
Some 261 homes will be pulled down during the phased programme that will only be on approved blocks of homes.
