MEMBERS of a special exercise class for the elderly received their flu jabs this week.
Health visitors took a trip to Birchwood Medical Centre to vaccinate elderly people involved in the Birchwood Falls Exercise Programme.
Carole Rowlinson, exercise programme co-ordinator, said: "Our group is for people aged over 75 who have had a fall. By attending our sessions, they acknowledge the need to look after their health and they see flu vaccination as an important way to stay healthy."
Free flu vaccinations are available to everyone aged over 65, as well as people considered at risk of serious complications if they contracted the bug, including people with lung, heart or kidney diseases, or conditions such as diabetes.
