POLICE are looking for a man who indecently assaulted an eight-year-old girl in Orford.
A man, seemingly intoxicated with drink, approached the youngster on October 9, between 5pm and 5.30pm, when she was playing with her six-year-old friend, at the junction of Amelia Street and Synge Street.
The man staggered down the street before approaching the girl and indecently assaulting her.
The children noticed that the offender smelt strongly of alcohol and cigarette smoke.
He then escaped down Synge Street leaving the girl physically uninjured but very shaken.
The man is described as white, aged in his late 30s, of slim build and with brown hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a beige jacket with metal buttons.
Anyone who witnessed the assault is asked to contact police on 652222.
