Mossbank Bulldogs u11 20

Newton Storm u11 34

A COMPLETE all round team performance by Storm was topped off by a magnificent four-try haul by Owen Clarke.

The foundations were laid from the first play-the-ball with a barnstorming drive from Billy Marlow.

With the same desire shown all over the pitch it was not long before Storm gained the upper hand.

With tigerish tackling from Dale Boyers and Joel Gough Storm did not look like letting the game slip.

Storm's further try scorers were via Adam Downs, two and captain Connor Marlow.

The player of the match was Clarke while the coach's award went to Boyers.

Storm entertain Culcheth u11s at Mesnes Park on Sunday, kick-off 10.45am.

Latchford Albion u13 44

Newton Storm u13 4

A NEWTON side that was decimated by sickness and holidays put their first points on the board on Sunday.

Many players were asked to perform in new positions due to absences and they worked hard throughout looking for this season's elusive points.

The Latchford forwards slowly took control of the match but Storm did not drop their heads and Dan Heaton made several breaks creating problems all over the pitch for Albion and laid off a pass for Dan Graham to sprint 35 metres to cross the line.

After the interval, Latchford put the score out of reach.

The player of the match award went to Heaton while the referee's choice was Dan Eden and Barry Walsh was the top tackler for the third week running.

On Sunday the u13s play Culcheth Eagles away, kick-off 10.30am.

* Newton Storm are recruiting new members for teams aged u10 through to u14. If anyone is interested, go down to the training ground at Mesnes Park on Thursdays at 6pm and on Sundays at 11am.
