POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in which a large quantity of cash was taken from a Post Office van on West End Road, Haydock.
A Post Office employee was removing items from the back of his van at 10.25am on Friday, October 11, when he was threatened by a man who used a white hard hat as a weapon. The offender then got in a silver Nissan car and escaped with the cash.
Fortunately the employee suffered no injuries in the incident.
The offender is described as white, aged 25 to 30 years old. He was wearing a yellow/green fluorescent vest, which had the words 'ordnance survey' written on the back.
