CREWE Police have released an e-fit likeness of the man who attempted to lure children into his car on four occasions after eliminating the man they arrested last Monday from their enquiries.

The man was ruled out as a suspect and released without charge last Thursday.

Now the hunt is on again and police are asking for anyone with any information to come forward as they try to catch the man responsible.

The incidents took place on Friday, October 4, when a man driving a red car pulled up alongside a 12-year-old girl wearing her school uniform as she walked along Ludford Street at 11.25am and offered her a lift.

After the girl refused, the man got out of his car, walked around to the passenger's side and opened the door for the girl to get in, but the girl ran away in a state of terror.

Just three hours later at 2.30pm, a man fitting the same description, stopped several times near to three schoolgirls as they walked along Meredith Street before driving off.

An hour later, an 11-year-old boy was followed as he walked along Ludford Street and into Badger Avenue as far as the traffic lights, before becoming so scared that he ran into a friend's house nearby.

The final abduction attempt took place at 4pm, when once again, a man fitting the same description as in the other three incidents, trailed a 12-year-old boy as he rode his bike down Underwood Lane towards Windsor Avenue, only for the boy to get away.

DC Chris Myers, who is investigating the case, said: "People need to be vigilant because the man is still out there. We are very keen to arrest him and if anybody has any ideas or may know who he is, please contact us as soon as possible.

The man has been described as a white 30-year-old with brown, gelled hair in a basin cut, who was wearing a dirty yellow style bubble jacket and dirty jeans.

He spoke in a deep local accent and was driving a red car that has a small boot and white paint at the rear, which could be paint showing through the red.

Anyone who may have witnessed any of the incidents or may know any information, no matter how small or incidental, is urged to contact DC Chris Myers at Crewe CID on 01270 500222 or confidentially on Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
