A WARRINGTON vicar has got his hiking boots and maps at the ready as he prepares to travel to Peru on a charity expedition.
The Rev Chris Goacher, of Cairo Street Chapel, will be marking his 50th birthday with the trip of a lifetime next year as he heads off to Machu Picchu.
On Friday, May 23, Chris will start his 10-day trip where he will trek along the ancient Inca tracks to the lost city of Machu Picchu.
He will be raising funds for Mind, a charity which helps people with mental health problems, as he hikes through the Peruvian Andes over mountains and glacial lakes, and along the Urubamba River.
