MONTHS of hard work have paid off for eco-campaigners at a Croft school, with the completion of their own outdoor classroom.
The thriving eco-group based at St Lewis' RC Primary will now use the cabin, in the grounds of the Mustard Lane school, as a base for their environmentally-friendly crusades.
Constructed by Bob Eastburn, husband of the environmental project's co-ordinator Daphne, it was supported by a £4,375 grant from the National Lottery's Awards for All programme and members of the St Lewis' Parent Teachers Association.
The opening honours were performed by head teacher Barry Cain, who is set to retire at Christmas after 20 years at the school.
