POOR finishing proved to be Red Lion's Achilles heel in their Grappenhall Darts League clash with ESM B.
The star of the show in the B team's 5-4 victory was M. Ashton, 24 darts. A. Williams, 22 and K. Rudd, 24, recorded wins for Lion.
ESM A overcame Pickering Arms 5-3 after leading 5-1 at one stage.
Their best performers were K. Atkinson, 18 and R. Hassall, 20. while T. Sheen, 21, shone for Pickering.
Warrington Town were thrashed 7-2 by Bulls Head, whose top marksman were S. Daley, 14, W. Bancroft, 18 and G. Sherlock, 18. C. Vernon was on good form for Town.
Royal Oak Branch suffered a crushing 7-2 defeat at the hands of Barn Owl despite excellent throwing by D. Bell, 17 and S. Thomason, 21.
H. Billinge, 18 and S. Poole, 23, were on fire for Barn Owl.
Lymm Legion were no match for GYCA. The A team won 6-3 thanks largely to quality performances by R. Lee, 13, R. Hepper, 23 and R. Lowston, 23.
F. Gerrard and J. Entwistle starred for Lymm.
Fleece were drawing 2-2 with GLT at one stage but their challenge fell away and they lost the last four games.
Legion's best marksmen were J. Smith, 16 and B. Smith, 21.
