GIFTED pianist Jonathan Scott will be playing Halton's beautiful Steinway grand concert piano at 7.30pm on Friday, October 18.

He will be performing a selection of well known pieces at the Queens Hall.

Prestigious

Jonathan has won many prestigious awards, including the Dayas Gold Medal in piano.

After studying at the Royal Northern College of Music, he developed his keyboard skills at New York and Amsterdam Conservatory.

His programme will include Beethoven Sonata no 21 in C (op 53 'Waldstein'), Chopin Nocturne in D flat (op 27 no 2), Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 and Rachmaninov Preludes (op 32).

The £38,000 'model D' Steinway was bought by a lottery bid, thanks to the joint efforts of Halton Music Society, the Highfield Male Voice Choir and Halton Orpheus Choir.

The grand concert piano is only four years old and has been played by a number of international artists.
